Meteor Crater Stock Certificate

“Specimen” stock certificates are created and retained for a few reasons; prior to the approval of a design or layout, ‘specimens’ are made, and, once a design is chosen, a ‘specimen’ is usually retained by the issuing corporation or bank for their records.  This particular stock certificate bears the serial number 0000, and is from the earlier Meteor Crater Exploration and Mining Company stock, dating to the early 1900s; later versions lacked the embossed border and flowing font.
