Glorieta Mountain, anomalous pallasite
The first specimens of Glorieta Mountain became known to European settlers in 1884, when several large pallasite fragments were found on a hillside by Mr. Charles Sponsler on a ranch near Cañoncito, New Mexico. While prospecting, he stumbled upon a 150+ kilogram mass which had shattered into several pieces upon impacting the ground. Since then, around a tonne of meteorites have been recovered from the strewn-field.
