NWA 3208, IIIAB
This iron is a highly shocked IIIAB — so shocked that its Thomson structure is almost completely erased. But, while preparing the type specimen at UCLA, I noticed something interesting. Immediately after polishing, a very faint pattern was visible on the cut surface. After etching, the faint pattern was gone, and only the thin, shiny taenite rims were discernible in strong reflected light. After repolishing and etching, the observation was corroborated by Dr. Wasson.
