Bear Creek, IIIAB
Bear Creek is a historic American iron that’s pretty hard to come by. We try not to buy slices or part-slices in general, but it was a nice surprise when this turned up in an old collection. Farrington’s 1909 Catalogue of North American Meteorites had the best summary of its history:
29 grams. Lots of schreibserite, typical of Bear Creek. Despite the pervasive oxides, it seems fairly stable: there have been no visible changes over several years.
